Global Business Roundtable Membership Policy

1. Purpose of document


The purpose of this document is to provide a guideline governing membership and the code of ethics as well as well as disciplinary and grievance procedures for members of the Global Business Roundtable. 

2. Membership

2.1 General Membership


This level of membership shall be open to any person who wishes to further the aims and objectives of the Global Business roundtable GBR and Global fund For Christ in terms of the vision and mission of the organizations as contained in the constitutions of both the Global Business Roundtable and the Global fund for Christ. 

The following criteria will be met:-
  • Be registered on the Global business roundtable database and issued with a membership number 
  • Attend roundtable sessions at the local roundtable 

The rights and obligations for this level of membership will be as stipulated on this document, unless otherwise stated.

2.2 Members in Good Standing 


This level of membership shall be open to any person who wishes to further the aims and objectives of the Global Business Roundtable GBR and Global fund For Christ in terms of the vision and mission of the organizations as contained in the constitutions of both the Global Business Roundtable and the Global fund for Christ.

The following criteria will be met:
  • Be registered on the Global business roundtable database and issued with a membership number 
  • Be a citizen in the Kingdom of God 
  • Attendance of a minimum 50% of all sessions in their local roundtable 
  • Serving in 2 committees or departments of their local roundtable. Serving in other departments that may be at global level will also be acceptable to meet the requirements of this condition. 
  • Attendance of their local or an international camp retreat in a calendar year 
  • Serving as an Ambassador for the Global Fund for Christ 
  • Adherence to the principles outlined in the Code of Conducts and Ethics. This is applicable for all members 

The rights and obligations for this level of membership will be as stipulated on this document. Further to the general rights and obligations members who meet these criteria may from time to time qualify for additional benefits which will be determined at that time.

The additional benefits may include participation in certain share schemes as determined by the Global Business Roundtable board of directors. Such participation will be at the sole discretion of the board and will not be negotiable.

2.3 Membership Registration

Any person seeking membership shall apply by visiting the GBR website at www.globalbusinessroundtable.com and fill in the application for membership. The internet services are not accessible a manual membership form shall be completed and handed in to the local roundtable for further processing. 
The chairperson of the roundtable shall ensure that the member is registered in the website and that the member is issued with a membership number.

2.4 Right to refusal

Application for membership does not guarantee acceptance into the GBR and we retain and maintain the right to refusal of membership and the right to rescind membership if the approval was erroneously issued or an oversight made. All such decisions and communication will be made with full disclosure of the cause of refusal to the aggrieved party.

2.5 Membership not transferable

Membership is not transferable hence no person or any other member may transfer any of their rights and obligations under these terms and conditions to another person.

2.6 Serving in GBR committees

Members who wish to serve in the various GBR committees shall fully subscribe to the constitution of the Global Business roundtable and shall in addition be citizens in the Kingdom of god by way of being born again in accordance with the scriptures of the Holy Bible.

2.7 Global Business Roundtable

Use of the Global Business Roundtable logo by you is not permitted unless you are an approved centre or partner of the GBR, and we have granted you express permission.

3. Rights and Obligations

3.1 Member’s Rights


The right of the members of the global Business roundtable are outlined below:-
  • Members will enjoy free membership to the Global Business Roundtable 
  • Qualifying members can be appointed to various positions to serve within the GBR 
  • Members may participate in different forums of the GBR 
  • Members will have access to business opportunities as and when are available 
  • Members will be able to network with fellow GBR members both locally and globally.
  • Opportunities may be available to network with various high profile people invited to Global business roundtable events 
  • Members will have access to investment opportunities
  • Members will from time to time enjoy the privileges of subsidised benefits for certain 
  • functions and events 
  • Members will access general support from fellow GBR members 
  • Opportunities for local and international travel will be available from time to time 
  • Members will have the right to visit other roundtables anywhere, thus increase their network to their benefit. 
  • Members will have access to information posted on the GBR website. This will include various presentations and business opportunities 
  • Members will have access to any mentorship programmes run by GBR 

3.2 Member’s obligations


Members shall be required to formally join the GBR by following the registration process
  • Members shall be required to subscribe to the aims, objectives and values of Global Business roundtable and the Global Fund for Christ.
  • Members shall be required to attend the roundtable sessions 
  • Members shall strive to serve others at their local roundtable 
  • Members shall be required to protect the confidential information of the Global Business Roundtable 
  • Members may be required to make financial contributions from time to time for certain sponsorships specific to particular events or sponsorship of other persons as they are able
  • Members are expected to take personal responsibility for self-development. The roundtable session will provide information and it incumbent to the member to use the information to their benefit. 

4. Code of Conduct and Ethics


The code of conduct and ethics at the Global Business roundtable will be guided by the Principles and Precepts of the Holy Bible. All members and leaders of the Global Business roundtable are expected to adhere to these Principles and Precepts. In particular your attention is drawn to the following principles:-

4.1 Selflessness


Members should serve the GBR and GFFC as well as the public interest selflessly and should never improperly confer an advantage or disadvantage on any person.

4.2 Honesty and Integrity


Members should not place themselves in situations where their honesty and integrity may be questionable and should not exhibit improper behaviour.

4.3 Accountability


Members should be accountable to all GBR and GFFC structures as well as the public for their actions and the manner in which they carry out their responsibilities, and should co-operate fully and honestly with any scrutiny appropriate to their particular office.

4.4 Openness


Members should be as open as possible about their actions and those of their authority, and should be prepared to give account for those actions unless specifically stated to observe confidentiality. 
Member comments and concerns directed to GBR and GFFC Member Services are welcome and encouraged. The organizations regard members’ feedback as the best opportunity to improve, and will respond as appropriate.

4.5 Personal Judgement


Members may take account of the views of others, including their political groups, but should reach their own conclusions on the issues before them and act in accordance with those conclusions taking into account the GBR and GFFC constitution and policies.

4.6 Confidentiality


Members must not disclose information given in confidence by anyone, or information acquired which they believe is of a confidential nature, without the consent of a person authorised to give it, or unless they are required by law to do so; and Should not prevent another person from gaining access to information to which that person is entitled by law.

4.7 Respect for Others


Members should promote equality by not discriminating unlawfully and biblically against any person, and by treating people with respect, regardless of their race, age, religion, gender or creed. 
Members are expected to treat other GBR members and staff respectfully in all interactions. Abusive language, profanity or threats directed to members, staff or the organization are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

4.8 Duty to Uphold the Law


Members should uphold the law in general and specifically the rules and regulations stipulated in the GBR and GFFC constitution and other regulatory mechanisms and, on all occasions, act in accordance with the trust that the organization is entitled to place in them.

4.9 Stewardship


Members are expected to be good stewards of their personal possessions and those resources entrusted to them by the Global Business Roundtable

4.10 Leadership


Members should promote and support these principles by leadership, and by example, and should act in a way that secures and preserves public confidence to the Global Business roundtable.

5. Discipline and Grievance Procedure

5.1 Disciplinary Procedure


In the event that a member of the Global Business roundtable has transgressed certain requirements and discipline is necessary, the procedure will be as follows:-
  • A member of the executive committee at the local roundtable will lay a complaint against such member who has transgressed certain rules. 
  • The complainant will be required to have sufficient evidence to lay such a complaint and have witnesses to support the complaint 
  • The executive committee will appoint a presiding officer who will be a member of the executive committee to hear the complaint and issue a recommendation to the executive committee after the hearing 
  • The member who has a complaint laid against will have the right to defend themselves against such complaint and afforded the opportunity to bring witnesses to the hearing. 
  • The executive committee will review the finding of the presiding official and make a decision pn the matter 
  • The decision of the executive committee will be communicated in writing 

5.2 Grievance Procedure


The grievance procedure will be applicable to cases where members have a certain grievance concerning other members or the leadership of the round table. The procedure for such cases will be as follows:-
  • The member will submit their grievance in writing to the chairperson of the roundtable 
  • The chairperson will appoint an independent member of the executive to hear the grievance. 
  • All parties involved will be given the opportunity to present their case and bring forth evidence and witnesses 
  • The presiding official will summarise the findings and make a recommendation which will be presented to the roundtable executive for a final decision. Such final decision will be communicated to the parties in writing 
  • Should the aggrieved party not be satisfied with the outcome of the decision, they can appeal the decision to the regional executive who will hear the matter as per the appeal procedure stated below. 

5.3 Appeal


  • Should the member not be satisfied with the outcome of the disciplinary or grievance hearing, the member will have the right to appeal in writing to the regional executive of the roundtables in the region within 3 days. Should the 3 days period pass, the member will forfeit this right od appeal. 
  • The regional executive will appoint an independent member of the regional executive from the regional structure as a Presiding official to hear the case. 
  • The complainant, defendant or aggrieved party will both have the opportunity to present their case and be heard together with their witnesses. 
  • The Presiding official will summarise the findings and present a recommendation to the regional executive council to make the final decision and communicate the parties in writing. 

6. Termination of membership


Any person’s membership may be terminated by the following events;
  • Resignation 
  • Expulsion 

The executive committee shall have the power to suspend or expel any member of the GBR:-
  • False or inaccurate statements made in the member’s application for membership of the GBR and GFFC, 
  • Gross breach of any rule, regulation or by-law of the GBR and GFFC after failure to adhere to two verbal and one written warnings. 
  • Any act detrimental to the GBR and GFFC after having undertaken due inquiry. 
  • Any member who is expelled, suspended or has their membership terminated, shall have the right to appeal against their suspension or expulsion by presenting their case to a GBR and GFFC appointed body constituted for such purpose, and the decision of the GBR and GFFC International shall be final.
